3 Steps to Being More Vulnerable and Less of a Perfectionist

What comes up for you when you think of the word Vulnerability?

Being your boldest, most confident self isn’t just about celebrating what’s awesome about yourself – although that’s hella important – it’s also about embracing your whole self.

Your whole self is comprised of many different parts, including your strengths and weaknesses, the good and the bad, and your light AND dark sides.

We often try to hide what’s “bad” about us, which is crazy! We’re all human, and the sooner we can accept that, the sooner we’ll be able to own what makes us exceptional, as well.

Owning your WHOLE self, requires you to be brave, courageous and, you guessed it, vulnerable.

I have to admit, Vulnerability is the YUOLOGY, element of success, that I have the hardest time with.

I struggled for a long time to only show my polished side to the world, and it was keeping my game small – keeping me STUCK.

It wasn’t until I moved to New York and had everything go sideways, and admitted that things weren’t perfect, that I was struck with the inspiration to create YUOLOGY.

If I’d kept trying to prove to myself (and the world) that the “dark” or “bad” didn’t exist, I’d probably still be floundering in my career, not fully tapped into my passion, and experiencing serendipity on a daily basis.

Accepting your shadow side, and owning your imperfections, gives you the courage to be your whole, badass self.   tweet this!

Trust me on this one. It really works.

Here’s 3 steps to practice Vulnerability:

  1. Get a blank piece of paper and write down – openly and honestly – where you’re stuck in your life or business, and what you’ve been too afraid to do about it (because you’re scared that you won’t look perfect & polished).
  2. GO DO IT, without anymore over-thinking. Do what?! The thing you’ve been too afraid to do, of course!
  3. Share with someone you love and trust. How was this experience for you? How do you feel about vulnerability now?

Once you’ve tried, I’d love to hear how this was for you.

The more accepting people are of themselves and others, the happier our world will become.

Thank you for being here and choosing to be you, with confidence.
