I used to think that I needed to be perfect to be enough.
That people would only want to work, hang out, and be with me — if I had it ALL together.
Then, a friend said to me, “Tonia, you would be much more approachable if you were vulnerable.”
He further added, that the more we accept about who we are, the more we invite others to do the same.
You see, people aren’t looking for perfectionism.
They want to be around real, raw, authenticity — even if it’s not always polished in a perfect package.
Because, let’s be honest, human beings aren’t meant to be perfect, we’re meant to be whole.
Don’t be afraid to expose your whole self with the world.
It’s easy to hide parts of ourselves that we’re not proud of, ashamed of, or maybe even embarrassed about.
But you have to remember, that all these cracks and flaws are what make you complete, as a whole and beautiful human being.
Nobody is without imperfections. And would you even want to know someone who’s “perfect”? Sounds pretty boring and unrelatable to me.
Without the dark ? you wouldn’t have the light ?, in fact, you wouldn’t even know what it is.
Embrace ALL that you are, and those who stick around for more, are the ones you actually want in your life. Those who leave, well, you can thank them for falling away as you level up.
Now it’s your turn, what’s ONE thing you’re going to accept about yourself, in order to move forward?
