It’s impossible to be happy all the time.
We’re filled with a wide variety of emotions, and unfortunately, we don’t get the luxury of picking just ONE to experience.
If you had a magic wand to pick only happiness, how would you even know what it is? Without the feeling of other emotions, it wouldn’t be possible.
We must feel the depth of darkness to appreciate the light.
You may have also found that it’s often in the discomfort of pain, confusion or sadness that has led you toward a path even BETTER (and more aligned with your essence) than you ever imagined.
Although you can’t always BE HAPPY, you can start rituals and practices to feel joy in the process — no matter what’s going on external from you.
It’s not about always “feeling good” it’s about cultivating love within yourself, so that you can take care of your wellbeing and appreciate the moment you’re in, which is ultimately leading you toward your bigger purpose.
Here’s 3 tips to amplify your Self Love and find joy in the process
1. CHOOSE LOVE: Every decision you make will either empower or drain you, make you feel good or bad, or come from a place of love or fear. Both options come with a different set of emotion, thoughts, words, reality — which will attract more of what you choose. For example, your thoughts and words create your reality, so choose the option that you want more of in your life.
2. START HAPPY HABITS: Do things that make you feel good and be consistent with your practice. Whether it’s dancing, a bubble bath, a workout, massage — find out what LIGHTS you up and do it. Don’t wait for it to come to you. Daily gratitude journaling is another great tool to start the process of shifting your mindset to appreciate what you do have, in the moment.
HINT: Comparison will suck the joy out of everything, stay in your own lane! This is YOUR journey.
3. FIND JOY IN THE PROCESS: We’re all striving to ‘get’ somewhere, whether it’s a promotion, a romantic partner, to get in better shape, to be more confident, to travel the world etc. You have to realize that THIS MOMENT is all you can guarantee, and it’s part of the process to where you want to be. You can’t wait to ‘feel good’ once you ‘get there’, this will cause a perpetual cycle of chasing goals.
Appreciate the moment and all that it is, even if you aren’t where you think you need or ‘should’ be, these are all pages in your life story.
After you’ve amped up your Self Love game, you’ll also see that you have the power to design your dream life.
All you have to do is decide WHEN you want to do it.
